Building Innovative, Local Economies...
Prosperity For Rural America

“Innovation is the specific instrument of entrepreneurship. It is the act that endows resources with a new capacity to create wealth. Innovation, indeed, creates a resource. There is no such thing as a ‘resource’ until man finds a use for something in nature and thus endows it with economic value. Until then, every plant is a weed and every mineral just another rock.”
― Peter F. Drucker, Innovation and Entrepreneurship

In my last post, it was suggested that a prosperous future for Rural America is dependent on building innovative local economies; economies capable of answering the challenges of accelerating change and global competition.  Additionally, a number of resources were recommended for how to build and maintain such innovative economies.

This post features a video explaining the Business Model Canvas; a tool created by Alex Osterwalder.  It provides a general understanding of what a business model is and how it can be used to analyze and improve your business/organization.
